In the heart of our New Hope community, a historic event unfolded, marking a new chapter in the lives of many young ladies and our community. New Hope Tanzania’s first annual “Made for More” conference, under the visionary leadership of Pastor Peter, his wife Nashapai, and a dedicated team of leaders in Ketumbiene, has left an indelible mark of encouragement and faith.
The conference, a brainchild of New Hope’s “Safe Heritage Program” leadership team, was more than just an event; it was a movement. It was a call to the young ladies in our community to realize their inherent worth as chosen children of the Most High God. In the words of April Ortiz, a special speaker at the event, “You are a beautiful, chosen child of the Most High God, and this cannot be taken away from you.” Her message, rooted in 1 Peter 2:9, resonated deeply, instilling a sense of divine identity and purpose.
The conference’s essence was beautifully woven into the tapestry of the cultural heritage of the community, aligned with scriptural wisdom. Psalms 139:14 was a reminder of our divine craftsmanship, ‘I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.’ This affirmation of our creation was echoed throughout the event. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 guided us on incorporating these truths within our families, communities and daily lives: ‘These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.’
And in times of adversity, James 1:2-4 reminded us of the strength and maturity that come from enduring trials: “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
ABSOLUTE TRUTH
A key element that truly set this event apart was the unmistakable spirit of local leadership. Pastor Peter, Nashapai, and their team’s commitment to organizing this conference was a testament to the power of community-led initiatives. Their tireless efforts in planning, coordinating, and executing this conference illustrated the profound impact of leadership rooted in the community. Hats off to them and the Safe Heritage leadership team, well done!
As the first of its kind, the “Made for More” event has paved the way for a new era of encouragement and spiritual growth. The young ladies left the conference not just with renewed faith but with a sense of belonging to a community that deeply values and supports them.
As we reflect on the success of this event, we are reminded that the power of prayer is EVERYTHING! Collective effort and faith are the fuel that will drive
